MAC Lightful. Active softening lotion

This product claims to be a lotion that hydrates your face and evens out skin tone over time. When I first used it I was very surprised at the consistency. It’s watery. Very watery. It’s almost as if MAC has bottled water, given it a slight, pleasant fragrance and then charged $30.00 for it.

This product seems ridiculous to me because your skin should be hydrated with a moisturizing lotion before makeup application anyway, I don’t see a reason to put this on top of a hydrating lotion. I believe we should be eliminating ineffective makeup steps, not adding them! It does, however come in a cool, space-like bottle…and that’s its only asset.
